Blass Cabernet Sauvignon Black Cassis 2015 Fashion

Description
Hyper black fruit with distinct Cabernet bramble leafy note. Some cabbage reductive elements before polished choc and cedary oak. Friendly, approachable palate, and as the name suggests, plenty of cassis: Blackcurrant for days. Soft tannins and lingering spearmint make this an attractive, drink now, slurpable type of Cabernet that will do just nicely with some braised beef cheeks.
COLOUR:
Deep red.
NOSE:
A complex black cassis nose is complemented by lifted varietal and regional notes of mulberry leaf, eucalypt and mint.
PALATE:
A chalky, structural wine that shows off the Langhorne Creek region. Leafy varietal characters work well with the plush plummy and cassis fruit. The finish is long and even, with fine tannins.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS:
Moderate winter and spring rains were followed by consistently mild conditions and cool nights leading up to harvest. This led to even ripening and good retention of natural acidity. As a result, 2015 vintage wines are very good quality, with optimal expression of colour and flavour.
FOOD MATCH:
Great with seared kangaroo fillet with juniper and rosemary, or herb-crusted lamb rack with black olive tapenade.
