Description

The wine presents ripe notes of citrus and stone fruit with hints of cream, toasted nuts and spice.The grapes were harvested from Block 1K, the estate’s best parcel of Chardonnay, which is situated on sloping hills at the far eastern end of the estate. The wine was fermented and aged in French oak barriques.

This 2014 vintage is a bit of a ‘beast’. The fruit was very ripe, due to the drought conditions leading up to harvest, and demanded a range of winemaking techniques to keep it in balance. It underwent barrel fermentation, partial malolactic fermentation and extended lees contact.
